Museum Room
The Museum Room offers a fascinating glimpse into more than 300 years of life at House Stele. Carefully preserved by generations of the Stele family, the room houses a unique collection of historical artefacts that tell the story of a family deeply connected to the traditions, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage of Kamnik.
Among the exhibits, visitors can discover historical clothing, musical instruments, household items, documents, photographs, and personal belongings that once formed part of everyday life in the house. Each object carries its own story, reflecting the customs, skills, and way of life of the generations who lived and worked here over the centuries.
More than a collection of artefacts, the Museum Room serves as a bridge between past and present. It reveals how the Stele family preserved traditional crafts such as candlemaking and gingerbread making while adapting to the changing times around them. Together, the exhibits create a vivid picture of family life, local history, and the rich cultural traditions of the region.
As you explore the room, you will gain a deeper understanding of the people behind House Stele and the legacy they have carefully safeguarded for more than three centuries, making the house one of Kamnik’s most remarkable living heritage sites.
